defragment

Given the conception of a fragmented contemporary reality that expanded throughout the 20th century and showed itself at the beginning of the 21st century through virtual means, I have been working on this project as a representation of the defragmentation of the classical Greco-Roman, Renaissance and Neoclassical canons. I rescue these canons as a reflection and counterpoint to the fragmentation and dilution of aesthetic values that lasted for centuries in the formation of a European culture, which crossed the Atlantic Ocean and is currently questioned, without being replaced, therefore.
The material used is pallets or boxes of discarded fruit and vegetables made of wood from the Pinus tree, which is produced for cutting. I combine these wooden scraps with resin adhesives to obtain the volumes of masses that I carve into parts of the human body.
